Who We Are
Lay counselors serve as listeners and spiritual companions. We are people who come alongside others with humility, care, and respect. This ministry is not built on quick answers, but on attentiveness, wisdom, and trust in God’s work in each person’s life. Each lay counselor in our ministry has received training in spiritual care, listening, and ethical boundaries. They do not function as professional therapists, but as trained lay leaders offering pastoral support under clearly defined limits.
All lay counselors in this ministry share a commitment to:
Compassionate, non-judgmental listening
Prayerful discernment rooted in Scripture
Respect for confidentiality and personal dignity
Clear ethical boundaries and appropriate referrals
Ongoing learning and spiritual formation
Lay counseling is offered as a ministry of service, recognizing both the value of spiritual care and the importance of professional counseling when needed.
